London's first things...

I've had several people ask me if I have done any shopping for miss London so I thought I'd post some photos of her very first items of clothing and accessories. I've been trying to keep myself reined-in with the purchases but I did let myself celebrate some over the past weekend. Here's the loot:

Dusty requested "those things that make their butts look big." I call them bubbles...

First hat!

Socks

Sweet little moccasins...

Look how tiny they are!!

And Jackson got a bathrobe. What a silly face!

The 1st swim of the season...

It has been unreasonably hot here in Northern California and the heat is supposed to escalate in the next couple of days. The highs tomorrow and Tuesday are going to be in the mid 90's. From what I've heard, it's not the norm. But, we're Texans, so we're used to silly weather patterns and unpredictability. The climate was much the same in North Carolina. In honor of the warmer temps, we took Jackson down to the pool for our first swim of the season. We were interested in seeing his reaction to the water as a toddler. His 1st swim last summer was as a 6 month old baby. Here is some of the photo-documentation...

Ready for a dip 2008

Ready for a dip 2009. Hard to believe what a big boy we have!

Wow! Water was pretty chilly, so I hear...

Brrrrrr

I'm outta here!

Swimming in the hot tub instead. Look at that face!

Floatin'

He finds bubbles pretty fascinating. He also likes to put them in his mouth.

The excursion lasted about an hour. The pool was too cold and the hot tub too warm. Maybe we'll try again in a couple of days once the water has had more of a chance to retain some heat. Temps should be back to normal by the end of the week... 70's, which is nice, but won't be conducive to swimming! In the mean time, I need to shop for a maternity swim suit... something I am NOT looking forward to doing :0)

Buckethead

I can't keep a hat on him for the life of me, but he LOVES wearing this dang bucket! If it only had more of a brim and could provide better sun protection...

I've come to the conclusion that Jackson is insatiable. Dusty brought Subway home for lunch on Thursday. I had just finished giving Jackson his lunch when I began packing up some snacks for the diaper bag. Jackson had to have some of those too. When Dusty arrived with our lunch, he made the mistake of sitting at the coffee table in the living room with his sandwich. Jackson found his way under and up through Dusty's arms and into his lap and began having his pick of the veggies on the sandwich. Dusty's face says it all in this photo:

But, on the other hand, Jackson ate some vegetables!! That is something he doesn't particularly enjoy. If we have to sacrifice a peaceful lunch in order to sneak them into Jackson's diet, so be it!

Jackson is going to have a baby sister in August! We'll schedule the surgery this coming Thursday. It's weird to pick her (!) birthday, but it sure is convenient! We are super excited, and I personally am still in shock. It seemed like everyone had the feeling I was having another boy, and I went in to the exam with boy on the brain, so things are trying to sink in...

One thing's for sure, her room and wardrobe are going to look like the color pink threw UP all over the place! Ha! PINK PINK PINK!!!
